Teacher’s Day Celebrations

Teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th of September. The birthday of the second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is observed as teacher’s day in India. Dr, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a renowned educationist, a scholar and a teacher. It is his birth anniversary that is celebrated as teacher’s day throughout the country. This day is considered as the day for the teachers. Teacher’s day is actually a day for paying a tribute to all our teachers and their immense hard work. So, it can be said that 5th of September also called as teacher’s appreciation day is the day dedicated to all the teachers. The immense role, support and guidance of the teachers can not be expressed in words; they are the ones who help us in giving a shape to our lives.


The celebrations of teachers day are full of positive energy and anticipation on the part of the students. Students act as teachers and in this way they actually get to understand the role and responsibilities of a teacher. Song and dance programs are an integral part of teacher’s day celebrations in various schools. The teacher’s day celebrations are a small gesture form the side of the students to thank their teachers for supporting and guiding them throughout. Through these celebrations students and their teachers remember the great educationist and philosopher, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who is the symbol of hope and inspiration.
