Poila Baishakh marks the first day of the Bengali New Year. Every year, it falls on 13th or 14th of April. On this day, most Bengali householders worship Goddess Lakshmi, goddess of wealth and prosperity. Both big and small businessmen start new ledgers with "Haal Khata" ceremomy
